Job Description

Overview

Newsela is hiring a Customer Support & Billing Specialist to work remotely from the Philippines. You will be one of the primary points of contact for customers — primarily teachers — guiding them through the subscription and renewal process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone and email outreach to schools facilitating subscription renewals
  • Generate quotes, process orders, and manage invoicing
  • Discuss billing details including payment timing, billing addresses, and due dates with customers
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and account support
  • Track interactions and billing cycles using Google Sheets, Salesforce, or Excel

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or billing experience with U.S.-based companies
  • Proficiency in Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets; Excel or Salesforce experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
  • Availability for U.S. business hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday)
  • Legal work authorization in the Philippines

Details

Full-time, 40 hours per week contract position. Must have access to a personal Mac or PC for work.
